Crystal Palace have signed Zavier Gozo from Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake. It is a new record transfer for RSL. The Premier League club signs Gozo for a$15 million (€13m, £11.1m). The deal surpasses the €10m RSL received for Andrés Gómez from Stade Rennes in 2024. Gozo has signed a contract through the 2030/31 season.
“I’m really looking forward to playing in the Premier League with Crystal Palace. It’s the dream of any footballer,” Gozo said in a club statement. “I’m excited by the people and the project they have going on here.” The 19-year-old right-winger has been an emerging star in MLS this season. A product of Real Salt Lake’s academy, Gozo made his debut for the first team in 2024 and then scored four goals and three assists in 25 MLS games last season. This year has been a breakout campaign for the dynamic winger, who has scored six goals and four assists in 16 games for RSL.
Those numbers have been impressive enough for Gozo to enter the US men’s national team conversation ahead of the World Cup. Ultimately, Mauricio Pochettino left out the winger, who can play every position on the right flank and also be used as a center-forward. Indeed, his numbers have also driven a surge in market value, with Gozo’s evaluation exploding from just €50,000 to €6m.
Who is Zavier Gozo? Among most valuable U20 talents in MLS
As a result of his strong performances, interest in Gozo has been high for some time. Major clubs from Germany, Spain and England are showing interest. Now it appears that Crystal Palace have won the race for one of Major League Soccer’s most promising young players. There is no doubt Crystal Palace will get a promising player if they get this deal across the line. Gozo is one of the league’s brightest young talents, and only two U20 players rank above him in market value.
